Thanking God for:
His perfect timing: my sister and her family were able to come out from Seattle for a visit, but if I had been a week late they wouldn't have been here...also one of my brothers was in town just for three days, so he got to see a fresh nephew too! I've never had any of my siblings around for a birth so that was very special!!
An uncomplicated labor- though a little too long for my taste! Was able to have my mom and sister around for the last few hours Monday morning before we went to the hospital, so that was a helpful distraction.
Also thankful for epidurals- after three totally natural childbirths, I decided to try one out.
Amazing. Simply amazing! Nothing like sleeping and smiling through the last 4 hours of labor, only aware of contractions from the computer screen!! (Why didn't I have one before now?!?) I think that made is easier on Ed too because he didn't have to watch me go through the most agonizing part of labor again. So he was smiling too =: )
Adoring older siblings...Kelly was/ is enamored! In fact she cried if someone else held her! So Greg had to hold Eric AND Kelly =: )
Thankful for adoring aunts and uncles: Greg and Rachel had my nephew Francis at the same hospital 16 years ago...how time flies!
It was a party! Kelly and Evan are watching as Eric gets cleaned up and weighed...
She's always nearby ready to give a kiss or a pet...whether he's crying or not, she doesn't care =: )
