Pay Day

Last Saturday was a particularly exciting day around here. Sniffles, coughing and hacking from all except the handsomest member of the family did not deter us from the designated purpose of the day: Pay day!
Instituted a VERY long time ago in child time (about three or four months ago), chore charting for Luke took on a special purpose when he had a goal in mind: A play-doh ice cream thing he saw on some random youtube video that Ed was showing him on his phone (yes they have youtube how-tos on pretty much every play-doh toy there is!).
A month or so ago he wanted to know if he FINALLY had enough money, so we counted out all his quarters- $12.50. Two weeks ago he had $17. Last week he had $20ish, but Ed showed him that he had to take out for tithe and savings, and that the toy he wanted was $21 PLUS tax. Not discouraged, he knew he had to do 8 more chores last week to be able to afford said excitement. Well nothing like a play-doh toy reward to get a young lad to do his chores with a happy heart!
Plus, mommy kind of likes playing with this one too (unlike our gravel maker)!

Bon appetite!
